This will be a strange Holy Week and Easter for all of us. Though we cannot celebrate the Easter ceremonies as usual this year, it seems as though the whole world is experiencing the Way of the Cross as the Coronavirus pandemic grows.  We know that Christ has walked the way before us; He is with us in our suffering and we have faith that death does not have the last word. Christ is risen and He holds out to us all the gift of new and eternal life. This is what we celebrate at Easter.

There are so many resources online to help us during Holy Week. We just offer here a few possibilities from Carmel:

Sr Thérèse from York Carmel (Thicket Priory) has written this article for The Tablet, about how Carmelite spirituality and our experience and enclosure could help people during the lockdown https://www.thetablet.co.uk/blogs/1/1393/hermits-in-community
Glasgow Carmel are livestreaming their Mass each day as well as some of their Divine Office and other liturgies. You can access the livestream by following their Facebook account or via their YouTube channel.
Our Twitter account @carmelnunsgb will continue to provide inspiration from the Carmelite Saints during Holy Week.
